Terms and Conditions

By registering to the 15th IGDS World Department Store Summit (WDSS 2024) you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

General

Registration is not considered confirmed and entrance is not permitted until payment of the cost contribution has been received in full. Delegates can only register online on the event website, www.wdss2024.org, by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). The cost contribution to WDSS 2024 entitles a delegate entry to the two-day conference, refreshments, and participation to the Official Dinner on Thursday evening 12 September 2024. The cost contribution does not include travel to or from the conference venue or any accommodation costs incurred. No partial refund will be made if a delegate attends only one day of WDSS 2024 conference or is not in the position, for whatever reasons, to participate to the Official Dinner.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be received in writing by email at berlin@wdss2024.org.

Cancellations received before 10 July 2024 will be eligible for 100% refund.
Cancellations received between 10 July and 11 August 2024 included shall incur an administration charge of €150. You agree that this charge represents a genuine pre-estimate of the costs occurred as a result of cancellation.
Cancellations received from 12 August 2024 onwards and 'no shows' are not refundable.

If WDSS 2024 has to be cancelled by IGDS for any reason within the control of the organiser, a full refund of the WDSS 2024 cost contribution will be paid to you within 8 weeks. IGDS's total liability to you in connection with the cancellation of WDSS 2024 shall be limited to a refund of the WDSS 2024 cost contribution. The organiser shall not be liable to delegate's travel, accommodation or other costs if IGDS is forced to cancel the WDSS 2024.

If WDSS 2024 has to be postponed for reasons beyond the control of IGDS, you will be notified of a revised date for the IGDS WDSS and you shall have the right to cancel your place and receive a full refund of the WDSS 2024 cost contribution (to be paid to you within 8 weeks). If you wish to confirm your attendance at the postponed IGDS WDSS, your booking will be transferred to the new IGDS WDSS date and the terms listed here will apply to the transferred booking.

In exceptional circumstances, it may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of the organiser of the WDSS 2024 to alter the content, speakers, venue, or the timing of the conference; all participants will be notified in advance of such changes. However, IGDS cannot be held liable for any costs occurred. This action does not entitle delegates for refund.

Substitute Delegate

Should a registered delegate be unable to attend, the organiser welcomes a substitute delegate to attend instead at no extra cost. Please notify the following information by email at berlin@wdss2024.org: name, job title, phone number and e-mail of both the registered delegate and the substitute delegate.

Insurance

WDSS 2024 participants and delegates are responsible for taking appropriate insurance cover in connection with their attendance at the event. To the full extent permitted by law, the event organiser, or any individuals associated with the organisation of the conference shall not be liable for any kind of loss or damage to personal property of delegates unless caused by our negligence.

Intellectual Property

All rights (including copyright and database right) in all presentations, documentation and materials published or otherwise made available as part of the WDSS 2024 (including but not limited to any audio-visual recording of the event) is owned by the organiser or is included with the permission of the owner of the rights. No photography, filming, broadcast or other dissemination of the content is permitted, unless previously agreed with the organiser. Materials provided by the organiser remain the intellectual property of WDSS 2024. Delegates and participants consent to WDSS 2024 (or its designees who have been specifically employed by the organiser) the possibility to make on-site recordings of you by any means without compensation of any kind to you.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Swiss law.

WDSS 2024 reserves the right to decline registrations in case the event is sold out. Please note that there is a limited number of seats available; registrations will be served on a first-in basis. The organiser reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to limit or deny access to the WDSS 2024 to any entity or individual and is not obliged or cannot be forced to give any reason for doing so.
